Fight against time

Well I have been given an almost free reign to do what I like with the television blog, but as normal time is my enemy and it seems new television related news is coming out daily!!!

Television News

Its not such a bad as it gives me lots of bits and bobs to write about / comment on which will keep the television blog fresh, but getting the time to keep up with all this new news is proving much harder than one would initially assume. Once I get the chance I will do a review of the second episode in the latest series of Top Gear which was much improved from the first, a bit about me (not that you want to know anyway) so you know a bit more about your editor and news in general like the proposed EU rule banning adverts from news and children's television programmes that are under 30 minuets long which could have huge implications if it comes into force.

Episode Guides

In case you haven't noticed another section has been added to the site for TV show episode guides, from what I understand is it is currently being tested in the form it is at the moment although it may change as having details of all 10 seasons of Stargate SG-1 for example make the page rather large which in turn may be slightly annoying for people accessing the information with a slow connection.

I think the way that may be taken to get around this is to have them set out more like this:

Stargate SG-1

Season 1

Season 2

Season 3 (and so on)

And have a link to details about the television programme where the title of the show is, in this case Stargate SG-1, the details of the episode guides for each season. Personally I think its a better idea for getting the information you want, but it is a lot more complex and time consuming to implement than the test pages being used at the moment, I'll keep you updated on what they decide to do and hopefully have some time to add some much needed television news to the blog soon.
