Cheap Television Changes
We at cheap television are thinking of changing the way we put news, blog entries etc on to the site to make it a little bit more user friendly.
At the moment the news section of cheap television sometimes has bits of news that aren't news (not that that makes much sense), for example press releases from television manufacturers or TV broadcasters etc. As you may have noticed we have been experimenting with the TV shout which to be honest hasn't worked as well as we had hoped, so we've had an idea.
Possible changes to Cheap Television CT News: to be just pure news from the Cheap Television team about tech, TV, celebrity, entertainment, broadcasting news and not to include news from other sources or third party press releases etc as it does now.
CT Blog: The Cheap Television Blog will remain pretty much the same, but will also include news about cheap television (such as this post) instead of them being posted in the CT news section.
CT Shout: We will drop the current Cheap Television Shout, but will keep the Shout name and use this for third party press and news stories to keep them seperate from the TV articles that we have wrote in the news section.
Any thoughts about this then please contact the cheap television team, this should be going forwards early next week.
Also the television forum we have been planning for a while now is basically finished, but we have had second thoughts about implementing it due to functionality and possibility of future issues and problems. We are looking at obtaining a vBulletine forum license for use with the cheap television forum as it is far more powerful and has many more features which would be very good for the whole site. This license isn't free unfortunately so we are going to have to stump up some funds to purchase it.
Finally talking of having to pay for bit for Cheap Television we did look into getting the AP news service to add to the CT news section, which is around 25 articles a day which would have been perfect for the site. Again it was far too expensive to warrent spending the money on (sorry) we'll just have to get our writing fingers running at full speed instead.
