Tara Palmer-Tomkinson wins Fame Academy By admin Published: March 16, 2007
Comic Relief Does Fame Academy has been won by Tara Palmer-Tomkinson Palmer-Tomkinson who beat Heartbeat actress Tricia Penrose to win the celebrity singing contest . Tara (who the BBC describe as a star for some unknown reason, why is she actually famous anyway?) sang These Boots Are Made For Walking, a number one for Nancy Sinatra in 1966.
Lesley Garrett who is one of the judges on Fame Academy said she was "enormous eccentricity" and "great fun". Votes on the celebrity singing contest raised over £780,000 for Comic Relief to spend on buying more guns for Somlians to shoot each other with as well as a couple of worth while charities in the UK and Africa.Thirteen un-famous Z-list celebrities started Fame Academy two weeks ago, including Blue Peter presenter Zoe Salmon, DJ Colin Murray and football presenter Ray Stubbs. EastEnders reject Shaun Williamson favorite to win Fame Academy, but was evicted on Thursday with Tara Palmer-Tomkinson becoming the bookies pick to win. Tara Palmer-Tomkinson went on to say "If I could personally ring each and every one of you who voted for us, I would, but I'd be broke!". Obviously Tara showing that the Fame Academy doesn't improve intelligence or singing ability there then. In 2005 Comic Relief Does Fame Academy raised £1.3 milion for charity, and was won by Radio One DJ Edith Bowman which shows that this year the show was twice as bad as last years effort. Least its off our television screens now now, not that I actually watched much of it as masterchef was much more interesting television. Now theres a thought Comic Relief Does Masterchef, its genius!
