Stargate SG-1 Final Episode Aired By admin Published: March 17, 2007
Final Episode of Stargate SG-1 Aired on Sky One The last ever episodes of popular television show Stargate SG-1 has been shown on Sky One in the UK, Sci Fi pulled the plug on the series last year with the final episode ironically called Unending. Although I have often made jokes out of Sci Fi fans being complete geeks I have to say I really did enjoy Stargate SG-1 (accessible to everyone science fiction) and its a shame it has come to an end especially as it seems as popular now as it was 10 years ago. I won't post any spoilers about the final episode of Stargate SG-1 as it has strangely already been shown in the UK before the US (makes a nice change really) where it is shown on The Sci Fi Channel. So instead I have posted some images from Unending which I hop will not give much or any of the storyline away.
Stargate SG-1 DVD Movies Although Unending was the final episode of the Stargate SG-1 television show it isn't the end of Stargate SG-1 altogether as MGM Studios has already began filming the two straight to DVD Starget SG-1 movies set to be released in late 2007. One of the locations Stargate: Continuum is being filmed is in the Arctic, where the film crew are said to be working with the US Navy. According to yourtv the US Navy will lend the Stargate producers a submarine for certain scenes (least it looks like it isn't going to be a cheap and rubbish production thank god). MGM's Charles Cohan said "We are excited to be working with the US Navy on filming these epic scenes in the arduous conditions of the Arctic," he went on to say Stargate SG-1 fans "will certainly enjoy these action-packed sequences". Lt. Erik Reynolds who has been assigned to the Stargate SG-1 movie by the US Navy added "With the extreme environmental conditions at the camp, and factors such as shooting on a moving sheet of ice and the occasional polar bear, [shooting the film] certainly will be a challenge,". Its a bit of a sad day for those who have enjoyed Stagate SG-1 on thier television screen for over 10 years now, but we can only hope the two DVD movies are as good as they should be and that more or even another feature film will follow.
