Size does matter.

Size does matter.

Now when it comes to mean and size the general idea is biggest is best, well most of the time anyway. For example the size of a cars engine, bigger is better, the more horsepower the better, bigger wheels better and so on. Its just an ego thing, for some reason we must have something better than our neighbours/friends and to do this we'll buy the biggest sized thing we can as we assume it is better.

Size does matter

This isn't relevant to just cars either, size matters when it comes to television screens as well "nice 37 inch Sony Bravia LCD TV, but I've just brought a 200 inch nuclear powered plasma television". Then there is houses, again size matters and biggest is best. No matter how much your better half tells you that size doesn't matter its what you do with it, she's lying, size matters there too bigger is again better so maybe this isn't even just a male obsession with size!

Anyway why am I rambling on about size? Well I've just received my CIMA fundamentals in business economics book which I need to study before I sit my first exam! Now ok if I'm honest I am a typical bloke so I always have to go over the top with things. Well until now... The size of the book is just ridiculously huge! I'm not talking about number of pages oh no no no. Its the height and width of the bloody thing! Imagine putting two paper back novels next to each other, then one across the top of them, then imagine its still slightly bigger! Stupid bloody book companies getting all egotistical about the size of things.

Now I read books on the train, its a good way to pass the one hour each way journey. The idea is I would use this reading time and study for my CIMA certificate exams, a good use of the time I thought and won't interfere with my social life at all! I can't do this though, its just so bloody big I'd have to ask the poor person sitting next to me to turn the pages.

Oh well there is my rant for the day, size does matter and sometime smaller is better, but only when it comes to books and maybe mobile phones! Finally (and there maybe a relevant point in here somewhere regarding televisions), but maybe just maybe when you go to the shops to buy a flat screen television, maybe you should consider buying the 37 inch TV instead of the 200 inch nuclear powered television!!! The picture will look far better, your living room (unless you have a seriously large one) wont look so stupid and all your friends wont think your such an ostentatious bast**d. Just a thought, but I know you'll go and buy the biggest flat screen television you can find no matter what anyone says.

Does size matter? Yes, just maybe not in the way you think.
