Japanese electronics supremo's Sony have reveled details of there latest Bravia range of LCD televisions. The TV range is called S4000 and model sizes are 26", 32', 37" and 40" with the 40 inch Sony Bravia S4000 LCD model featuring Full HD (the rest are HD Ready). All the televisions come with Sony's normal attention to detail and piano black finish.

New Ambilight Televisions For Summer.

Finally some hot non cheap TV news for the summer as consumer electronic manufacturer Philips has announced that it is to release its new range of 1080p full HD LCD Ambilight televisions in June. The Philips Ambilight LCD televisions will be named the 9600 series and available in 32", 37", 42" and 47" sizes. We will have to see if the larger televisions are better than the current benchmark of the Pioneer Kuro plasma TVs once reviews start coming through.

Russell T Davies to quit Doctor Who.

The man who was instrumental in bringing the cult classic TV show Doctor Who to our television screens is to step down as the lead writer and executive producer. The announcement was made today and will see Steven Moffat take over the reigns for the next series of Doctor Who. We are in for a long wait to see if this will be a bad or good move as it won't be aired on our televisions until 2010.

LG launches Scarlet LCD televisions.

Electronics company LG has announced the release of its Scarlet range of LCD televisions. They are LG's so called ultra thin LCD televisions which will be released in 32, 37, 42 and 47 inch sets. Models in the Scarlet range will be available in 720p and 1080p resolutions.

18% Buy HD Televisions For Gaming.

According to a recent survey 18% of all HD televisions have been sold to customers mainly interested in using their TV for HD gaming on the Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3. Also another interesting statistic from the survey showed that 25% of American households now have at least 1 HD television.

In case no one has noticed the little button at the top of cheap televisions I thought I'd make anyone hunting for a bargain deal on a new plasma television know that Argos are currently selling the Acoustic Solutions 42 inch HD Plasma TV for just £499.99. No idea what the proper model number of the television is but it features 2 HDMI sockets, 2 scart sockets, 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Two things do confuse me about this plasma TV at Argos are 1 in the picture it actually shows a PROMAX television and not an Acoustic Solutions one and 2 you can add 3 year breakdown cover which (and I'm not joking) isn't valid for plasma televisions lol. On the other hand Argos can offer finance and insurance deals on my products.

Sony Extra Slim OLED Television.

Ok its a bit hard to tell what the second picture below is but I can assure you its a HD television. To be more specific its an OLED TV made by Sony and they have recently been showing off its incredible panel thickness of just 0.3mm! I thought the Macbook Air was thin but this is taking flat screens to a whole new level.

Loewe Connect 37 Media Full-HD+ DR+.

Ok the Loewe Connect 37 Media Full-HD+ DR+ is a silly name for a television but it is one gorgeous looking 37 inch LCD TV. The modern contemporary design does come at a not so cheap price of around 2k so is maybe more for the design conscious amongst us. As you would expect from a high end LCD TV it has 720p, 1080i and 1080p HD formats but more interesting is the built in PVR and a 180GB hard disk.

Hayden Panettiere was bullied.

Sexy star of the American hit TV show Heroes has revealed she was bullied at school because she was an actress. She wasn't in Heroes at the time but two US television soaps called One Life To Live and Guiding Light in the early nineties. Bet all her former classmates are pretty jealous of the gorgeous Hayden Panettiere now.

Sony fills Miami with foam for TV Advert.

Sony has taken the team behind its LCD Bravia TV adverts and set the to task with its new television commercial for its range of digital cameras and camcorders. I have to say it does look as impressive as the Bravia TV commercials after watching the video of 'Foam City' on the Sony website in which they fill a section of the American city of Miami (Florida) with foam (obviously) lol.

Top 10 Blu-ray DVDs 18/04/08.

Haven't really touched on Sony's Blu-ray DVD format for a while now, with so much happening in the world of HD televisions its hard to find te time of day to blog about everything. But hopefully I can start to put things right, HD TVs deserve HD movies after all. I've put together this list of top selling Blu-ray DVDs from play (and not amazon UK for a change!). Obviously the top 10 is effected by sales, deals and promotions that play currently has on.

Samsung collaborate with Armani on HDTV.

It seems the fad for electronic manufacturers and fashion houses combining forces to get consumers to buy more of their products isn't going to go away. Although mainly confined to mobile phones it seems now that televisions are the next to suffer this fate after news of Samsung and Armani collaborating on a LCD HDTV have been announced. The TV as you would expect is 1080p and will be available in both 46 and 52 inch models. I have to admit (and it pains me to say this) that the Samsung Armani LCD HD TV does actually looks like a really nice modern design although I would still prefer a Bang and Olufsen television myself. Hold on I hear you say Bang and Olufsen aren't cheap televisions at all, well I'm affraid neither will this designer offering from Samsung.
