Best selling 37" to 40" LCD TVs [April 08].
Back in August 07 we did an article on cheap television showing the best selling 37 to 40 inch LCD TVs. So 8 months on I think its about time we did it again and see what new LCD TVs make the grade. Again the top 25 is collated from Amazon sale popularity of 37" to 40" tellys and can easily be influenced by special deals and sales currently going on. Nice to see that every one of these LCD TVs is a HDTV too.

Sony announce Bravia W4000 LCD TV.
Japanese electronics giant Sony has announced a new addition to the Bravia range with the W4000 LCD TV which is aimed at the high end of its television range. We don't really have any details on sizes or prices from Sony although you can be sure that it won't be a cheap LCD TV when its released. The Bravia W4000 will be full HD 1080p as you would expect from a high end LCD television from Sony.

Bored of black? Consider a silver Sony Bravia LCD TV.
Just been searching the internet for some cheap TV deals when I came across this Silver 37 inch Sony Bravia KDL-37P3020U HD Ready LCD TV with freeview over at play. It stands out for one main reason, and thats the colour. Not black for a change but also not that nasty plasticy silver many televisions were made in a few years back. This Sony Bravia KDL-37P3020U LCD TV is more of a dark gray (or gunmetal if you will) and I think it looks really cool, modern and contemporary (so many words for saying the same thing!

Electronics store Dixons has got a couple of Easter deals (apparently Mega but being Dixons I find that hard to believe) which include a couple a LCD TVs. The two television deals its advertising most for are the 19 inch HD ready LG 19LS4D LCD TV and the Toshiba 32 inch HD ready 32AV505D LCD TV with 2 HDMI connectors (getting more and more important these days).

Samsung to invest in LCD TV production.
A bit of news coming in from Reuters news saying that Samsung Electronics is to invest approximately £105 million pounds in a new LCD TV production line. The report other than saying that Samsung one of the worlds biggest manufacturer of LCD television screens would invest the money in the new line didn't provide many details about the investment.

The current best selling 42 inch LCD television on Amazon.co.uk is the Toshiba 42X3030 42" HD LCD TV. The TV has some really really good reviews on the site and from the looks of it at £881.29 on amazon is pretty good value for money! The Toshiba 42X0303 HD LCD TV is just ahead of another Toshiba LCD television in the 42Z3030B and Philips offering of the 42PFL5522D. But I want to have a look and see if I can find Toshiba's bestselling HD LCD TV cheaper than its currently being offered at amazon.

As if it couldn't get anymore confusing knowing exactly who manufactured your LCD TV LG have announced that they are to buy LCD panels from Sharp! LG Electronics say they will purchase the flat screen panels from Sharp for there 32 inch and 52 inch LCD televisions. LG claim the move is in response to demand for LCD TVs from consumers and so that LG can meet that demand within the LCD television market. Strange stuff, but as long as I get a cheap LCD TV from the deal I'm a happy bunny.

Canada gets first Sony Bravia OLED TV.
Sony have announced that they are releasing there first OLED TV in Canada with the Bravia XEL-1 11" HDTV. According to Sony it used 40% less power compared to a traditional LCD TV although it probably also requires 40% more effort to watch as Sony's first OLED TV in Canada (the XEL-1) is only 11 inches and costs around $2,500 Canadian Dollars!

Sharp announce 20 new LCD televisions.
Electronics giant Sharp have today announced they are to produce 20 new Aquos LCD televisions for the Japanese market according to a press release on there website. The sizes of the TVs will range from 20 to 50 inches and will be known respectively as the X, E and S series LCD televisions. They also claim a rather interesting (if your slightly sad like us lol) statistic that since releasing the Aquos LCD TV range in Japan back in 2001 they have managed to sell over 10 million units!
