X Factor - Louis Walsh Likes Cheryl Cole.

It wont be too long before the X Factor returns to our television screens and as part of the 2008 shows build up the annoying little git Louis Walsh has actually been praising Cheryl Cole who takes over from Sharon Osborne as a judge. And there us at cheap TV expecting more of the same arguing and complaining on our televisions like last years X Factor show!

UK Sony OLED Televisions In 2009.

Just a quick bit of news regarding OLED televisions, makes a change from cheap HD plasma and HD LCD TV news ay! It looks highly likely Sony will begin selling its first XEL-1 OLED televisions in the UK in 2009. The Sony XEL-1 costs around $2,500 in the USA, Canada and Japan so should be around that price mark in the UK although I don't think it likely to be a big hit on the high street as these televisions are only 11 inches!

Fern Britton Fears Heart Attack.

Everyones favorite you look great how you are although I've had a gastric band fitted TV show presenter has revealed she decided to lose weight because she feared having a heart attack. Fern Britton caused lots of controversy in the news after her gastric band operation two years ago was revealed but it appears the This Morning television presenter is fighting back in a recent interview. Oh and before I move onto what she said I'm a little worried as to why people are searching cheap televisions for naked pictures of Fern Britton!! Please stop it lol.

Russell T Davies to quit Doctor Who.

The man who was instrumental in bringing the cult classic TV show Doctor Who to our television screens is to step down as the lead writer and executive producer. The announcement was made today and will see Steven Moffat take over the reigns for the next series of Doctor Who. We are in for a long wait to see if this will be a bad or good move as it won't be aired on our televisions until 2010.

18% Buy HD Televisions For Gaming.

According to a recent survey 18% of all HD televisions have been sold to customers mainly interested in using their TV for HD gaming on the Xbox 360 and Sony Playstation 3. Also another interesting statistic from the survey showed that 25% of American households now have at least 1 HD television.

Ok its a bit hard to tell what the second picture below is but I can assure you its a HD television. To be more specific its an OLED TV made by Sony and they have recently been showing off its incredible panel thickness of just 0.3mm! I thought the Macbook Air was thin but this is taking flat screens to a whole new level.

Skins series 2 final episode.

This week is the final episode of Skins series 2 on E4 and Channel 4 so don't forget to set your digi boxes to record what I think is the best show on TV at the moment (or pre order the Skins series 2 DVD if your addicted like me). After Chris died last week Skins is set up for a good final episode and I'm a bit sad to see it leave our television screens as this will be the last time the current cast will be involved after producers revealed series 3 will have a totally new cast!

There will never be a good time to buy a new HDTV be it LCD or plasma, actually forget televisions for a second as this could be applied to almost all electronics technology. The reason being is once you buy the hottest new gadget or TV on the market within 6 months you can be pretty sure it will be out of date! However techradar have given us all a heads up by letting us know 5 HDTVs coming to the market soon which are well worth a second look including the gorgeous looking Samsung 750 LCD and 750 PDP HD TV sets (see picture below).

Virgin Media adds Sopranos to HD on demand.

Virgin Media's excellent video on demand service has had a huge boost this week with the announcement of two highly acclaimed US TV shows being made available on the service in HD. (If you haven't already its time to go buy a HDMI cable and use your HD LCD TV how it is supposed to be used). This high definition shows include the excellent WW2 drama Band Of Brothers and the award winning gangster TV series The Sopranos (I watched the End Game finale last night and I thought it was the achilles heal of the whole production, sorry).

Finally ugly Kerry Kotona will be banished from our lcd TV screens as she has apparently refused to continue filming for her highly annoying and self indulgent MTV reality television show Kerry Katona Crazy In Love. This will cut the series by 5 episode from 16 planned in a deal said to be worth around £160,000 to the former Atomic Kitten singer (if she can actually be called a singer opposed to a fat self obsessed chav that makes Jade Goody look slightly normal!).

Doctor Who will move to 7pm.

Lots of fanfare on BBC One at the moment as the cult TV show staring David Tennant Doctor Who returns tomorrow at a strange time of 6.20pm. However the BBC plans to move the sci fi show to 7pm after five or six episodes of the new series. The move apparently follows Doctor Who creator Russell T Davies comments claiming that the BBC was "cocking up" the schedule.

Probably the best thing on television at the moment is Channel 4's teen drama Skins which is now in its second series. Its not often you'll hear me saying something is great on TV although I do know some people who don't like Skins claiming its either weird, full of posh people (I do live in Essex sorry lol) or some other stupid reason not to like it before they go and turn Hollyoaks or Eastenders on their LCD TV. Bonkers I know!! But even more bonkers is that the executive producer of Skins has confirmed that they are to drop the entire cast of the current series of Skins for Skins series 3!

BBC Obtain Formula One TV Rights.

Formula One racing will be returning to the BBC from 2009 after they secured a 5 year deal for the TV rights. Formula One has been on ITV for the past 12 years but the BBC's acquisition means us viewers won't have to be interrupted by television commercials during the race. Finally something other than Top Gear that the TV license fee is worth paying for lol. According to the BBC Formula One coverage will be online as well as on radio and television.

Suzanne Shaw wins Dancing On Ice.

More TV news and this time its that singer Suzanne Shaw has won ITV's Dancing On Ice television show after getting two top scores from the judges. She also managed to beat the bookies who had Chris Fountain down as the favourite to win (and should have in my opinion). Suzanne Shaw also beat off Zaraah Abrahams who came third even after saying she would pose naked if she won) and who unfortunately had to leave the show wearing her Bolero costume without getting the chance to perform it.
