True Blood given go ahead by HBO

American TV broadcaster HBO has given the thumbs-up to go ahead with True Blood, a drama about vampires based on books from Charlaine Harris and is in good hands as it comes from the creator of Six Feet Under.

We don't have any other details about True Blood on HBO as of yet apart from Anna Paquin and Ryan Kwanten are apparently amongst the new shows cast. We think True Blood sounds very promising, well we've missed having vampires on television since Buffy left our screens so we'll bring you more information on characters and plot once we get them.
