Nintendo Wii Christmas shortage?? By admin Published: October 1, 2007
Nintendo Wii Christmas shortage??Ah when will a Christmas come along without a shortage of the most sort after presents? Well never by the statement released by Nintendo America, which is saying that it expects demand for the Wii console at Christmas to outstrip production! So it looks like Christmas 2007 will have lots of unhappy children and lots of parents fighting in the shops on Christmas eve, which I personally think is hilarious as I'm not a child (debatable) and thankfully not a parent either.
A Nintendo spokesperson told Mercury News "We're working very hard to make sure that consumers are satisfied this holiday, but I can't guarantee that we're going to meet demand. As a matter of fact, I can tell you on the record that we won't. What I can tell you is that typically, our inventory is lasting a day... I don't think we will know when supply crosses with demand until after the holiday season. The issue is not a lack of production. The issue is we went in with a curve that was aggressive, but the demand has been substantially more than that. And the ability to ramp up production and to sustain it is not a switch that you flick on." So if you really do want to buy a Nintendo Wii for you spoilt little brat of a child, purchase one now before the Christmas rush....... Simple really.
