Star Wars television show

Yup George Lucas has apparently started working on a television series based on the cult classic Star Wars films. The old beard loving movie director has however said the Star Wars television show will not be based around the Skywalker family, but will be about the more minor characters which in turn will expand the Star Wars universe of which there are still huge amounts of fans.

George Lucas said "The Skywalkers aren't in it, and it's about minor characters. It has nothing to do with Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader or any of those people. It's completely different. But it's a good idea, and it's going to be a lot of fun to do."

With the unfortunate end of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis not being on the same level it leaves the door open for a new well produced Sci-Fi television series which the Star Wars show could fill nicely. Keep your fingers crossed that the storylines are well written and that production values are kept high as not to tarnish the Star Wars franchise with a half baked TV show.
