Konami delay MGS4 Launch By admin Published: October 31, 2007
Konami delay MGS4 LaunchOh no I hear you scream, but unfortunately its true, Japanese gaming giant Konami has changed the scheduled UK release date for MGS4 from March 30 to sometime between April and June 2008. Obviously many gamers will be disappointed that MGS4 has been pushed back as Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots is one of the most hotly anticipated games for Sony's Playstation 3. No doubt Sony will also be slightly disheartened as such a high profile game could turn the tide for the PS3 against the family friendly fast selling Nintendo Wii and Microsoft's Xbox 360 with its great selection of A* games.
Konami claim they have delayed the release of MGS as they want to allow time to make further improvements to Solid Snakes next outing. Obviously I don't doubt Konami's commitment to quality when it comes to MGS4 and personally I don't mind that its been delayed as long as the final game is amazing. Saying that and reading posts on PS3 forums not everyone is of the same opinion and some are even annoyed (mainly those who have pre ordered MGS4). Konami released a statement regarding the delay to MG4 saying "Konami has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide." I'm still seriously looking forward to the release of MGS4 on the Sony PS3 looking at the previews, screenshots and videos circulating the internet it looks stunning both in graphics and substance. Who doesn't like a bit of sneaking around shooting the bad guys with the added value of some kind of mechanised monstrosity thrown in for good effect. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if the stealth based shooter release date gets pushed even further back, but in MGS4 they are no doubt producing one of the best looking computer games in history. If we get anymore news on the release of MGS4 on the Sony PS3 we will no doubt keep you informed.
