Michael Parkinson Knighted.

Chat show legend Micheal Parkinson has been knighted for his services to broadcasting in this years honors list. The 72 year old recently retired from his chat show on ITV and described the honor as being 'very strange'. Although he said it was a great honor to be knighted he would still swap having Sir at the start of his name for a cap for the Yorkshire Cricket Club.

Sir Michael Parkinson said "I never imagined it would happen. It's just fantastic, wonderful - a great honour. I haven't really taken it in. It's something I'll get used to, hopefully, in the coming years."
