Yup the Top Gear presenting teeth whitening car crashing hamster with new funny hair Richard Hammond is apparently relocating to a £6 million house in Beaconsfield. Although Richard Hammond and his wife Mindy will only be renting (I say only lol) they will be rubbing shoulders with other famous people and TV stars including Cilla Black, Tess Daly, Vernon Kay, Des O'Connor and Barry Gibb according to The Sun. I'm rather jealous I'd be happy with a nice one bedroom flat lol. Richard Hammonds wife said the move was needed so they could be closer to London and needed somewhere substantial because of Richard's cars (which include a Porsche 911 and Morgan) and her horses.

Just married actress Billie Piper has said she is worried about her return to the popular TV show Doctor Who playing Rose Tyler. Billie Piper will return alongside the Doctor (David Tennant) for 3 episodes which will also apparently have the doctors two other assistants Freema Agyeman and Catherine Tate. After all the controversy surrounding TV phone in competitions in 2007 the BBC has decided to reintroduce them in 2008 but with a cap of 15p per call. The BBC has claimed that it will make no difference to the television corporation and will affect charities the hardest.

Leon Jackson pulls out of Hogmanay. Personally I think its wrong to pull out at the last possible moment but less of my naked bedroom antics. X Factor winner Leon Jackson has pulled out of Edinburgh's Hogmanay due to apparently having tonsillitis. The TV singing competition winners move will no doubt add fuel to the fire that he is struggling to deal with the pressures of fame after winning the ITV show X Factor.

CSI still big in USA.
I've just been looking at the top ten TV shows on broadcast TV in the USA and I'm amazed how popular CSI still is over the other side of the pond! I mean it is pretty popular here too but I thought they just over saturated the market with so many variants of the same theme but it appears I was wrong (as normal!). Actually looking at the top shows on American television there is a real running theme of crime crime and more crime. ITV to sign Terry Wogan.
Executives at ITV are trying to persuade TV and Radio presenter Terry Wogan the join the network in a big money deal. Terry Wogan would remain on the BBC for his Radio 2 breakfast show where he earns an estimated £800,000 a year but would be sent into the trenches against Paul O'Gradys show on Channel 4. The deal seems likely to go ahead as Terry Wogan hasn't been doing much television work since being dropped by UKTV. ITV still aren't sure what kind of show they will put him in although we have heard it is most likely to be a game or quiz show. Being ITV the move will no doubt fall flat on its face as everything they do turns viewers off lol.

I don't mean to take the mick out of Kate Thornton here but why would anyone want to buy pictures of her wedding to Darren Emerson anyway? Kate Thornton who recently announced she is pregnant is set to get married to her long time boyfriend and the TV host wants it to be a private ceremony according to an interview in the Sun newspaper. Oh well thankfully we won't have to look at any silly wedding pictures in any of the celebrity magazines then lol. I still don't think we're far off a celebrity selling there wedding to a TV channel and having it broadcast live to the nation!

Japanese electronics giant Sony has confirmed plans that it will stop producing rear projection screen TVs. Sony puts the move down to lack of demand (instead of admitting they are rubbish like we all know). However Sony will continue to focus all its attention on the LCD screen TV market (Bravia televisions) and develop the newer technology OLED TVs (organic light-emitting diode).

Chat show legend Micheal Parkinson has been knighted for his services to broadcasting in this years honors list. The 72 year old recently retired from his chat show on ITV and described the honor as being 'very strange'. Comedian and co creator of TV shows The Office and Extras Ricky Gervais has said he has no plans to start working on a new TV show at the moment and wants to concentrate on his movie career. The Extras Christmas special was watched by over 5 million people yesterday. Ricky who has become the face of self absorbed egotism and made himself look ridiculous at the Dianna concert when the 'stand up' comedian couldn't even keep the audience entertained for 5 mins is working on 3 films in 2008. Sacha Baron Cohan the comedian and creator of the Ali G and Borat characters has said he will never play either of them again. Sacha claims that he is retiring them as they have become too popular too catch people out with. Botch characters were originally on Channel as small sketches and both were subsequently moved from the small screen and on to the big screen each getting there own films. This leaves just one character left from the TV show to be made into a film in the form of Bruno the Gay German fashion reporter.

Well today is Boxing day and no doubt there are plenty of bargain hunters scouring the high streets of the UK and internet shops looking for those amazing deals in this years sales. Cheap television has therefore experienced a real surge in traffic today no doubt down to the January sales. Just watching my TV now every other advert is going on about some kind of special discount end of season sale etc, 30%, 50% even 70% off, now just a word of warning for those looking to pick up a cheap LCD or plasma TV deal in this years sales be warned they won't have that high a discount on televisions opposed to things like clothing and other electronic goods.

The old hand at TV chat shows Michael Parkinson has claimed that no true chats shows are on our television screens now he has hung up his coat and retired. And Michael Parkinson has a very good point if you ask me as all other chat shows on television are not about conversation but are more a comedic exchange of witty banter (normally making the host look funny) like Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross. He also has managed to show he is more clever than television bosses at ITV by saying they are trying to chase an audience that doesn't exist by making shows for 16 to 34 year olds who are normally out on Saturday nights.

Leon Jackson beat Rhydian Roberts in X-Factor final.
Last night saw the final (finally) of the ITV television show X Factor where Rhydian Roberts and Leon Jackson went head to head for the crown and record contract. Although Rhydian Roberts was the favorite in the end Leon Jackson managed to pull off a surprise victory. Saying that we here at cheap TV's still think Rhydian Roberts will have the longer more successful career out of all the X Factor contestants. Leon Jackson is just a throw away act and could have been in many of an unsuccessful boyband, his first single to be released is When You Believe, oh the pain is already beginning thank god my car has a decent CD player lol.

The Virgin 1 television channel has purchased the British rights to tun the first season of WBITV comedy show Chuck. It has been a hit on American television where it is shown on NBC, Chuck stars actor Zachary Levi that becomes a spy, but only after accidentally managing to store all the CIA's secrets in his head. Sounds slightly stupid but Chuck is a comedy after all!
