The BBC has picked up the rights to broadcast an Americans comedy television show called Nurse Jackie for BBC Two and BBC Four. We’re excited as it stars Edie Falco from The Sopranos. If I’m thinking right this is the first TV show from the USA that BBC Two will have shown since it picked up Heroes.

Edie Falco Nurse Jackie
Its apparently crittically acclaimed an the BBC press release says “This highly anticipated dark comedy stars multi Emmy and Golden Globe award winner Edie Falco (The Sopranos) as the title character, Nurse Jackie Peyton, a strong-willed nurse in a New York City emergency room”.
Janice Hadlow who is BBC Two controller added “It’s great to be able to bring one of the best quality, intelligent US comedies featuring actors of the very highest calibre to a discerning British audience.”
I shall be looking forwards to seeing if this is any good but have no details of when the BBC plan to start broadcasting it yet. I have asked on Twitter but they rarely reply to anything on there.
