The cheapest of the bunch is rather obviously the 26″ Sony TV. Coming in at a reasonable £299.99. The exact model is Sony Bravia KDL26S5500 26-inch Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV with Freeview! The Amazon user reviews give it 4 out of 5 stars based on 42 reviews which is a pretty good score.

Next up is the Sony Bravia KDL32W5500U 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview, 100Hz Motionflow and 3-Year Warranty. Obviously this is a big step up from the cheaper and smaller Sony Bravia KDL26S5500 TV and costs £499.99 in the Amazon special offer. It is a more substantial television though being full HD, 100MHZ and that added security of the 3 year warranty make this deal look very good. Amazon reviews give the Sony Bravia KDL32W5500U 4.5 stars out of 5 from 87 reviews which is exceptional.

Last but not least in the Amazon offer is the Sony Bravia KDL40W5500U 40-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview, 100Hz Motionflow and 3-Year Warranty for £679.99. Again all the benefits that the Bravia KDL32W5500U has but the big advantage of being a good size. Again has 4.5 out of 5 in the user reviews but this time from 159 reviewers.
All of these look like very good Sony Bravia televisions. I know Amazon call them offers but I’m pretty sure you could find these cheaper elsewhere although buying from company with a good reputation like Amazon is sometimes worth the slight extra premium when purchasing the larger two screens they have in this deal.

Ok back to the cheap televisions deals and looking around the internet we found a little offer that can be picked up at Tesco. They are offering a half price Xbox 360 when you buy a Technika 23” LCD TV which we believe comes with built in Freeview and a DVD player. As you would expect the Technika TV at Tesco is a HD Ready television (they all are now aren’t they?) and comes with silver trim rather than the normal black all for £200.00. Throw in the half price Xbox 360 Arcade at £79.50 and we think you’ve got a pretty good cheap television deal. Cheap Tesco Techkina Television Deal

The promotion is due to end on Thursday the 8^th of April so keep this in mind if you want to take advantage of the half priced Xbox 360 and Techkina television deal. You can get free delivery from Tesco with the package deal and they sell an additional warranty plan covering 3 years for £40.97. Not sure if this is worth taking out so please do your research before parting with your hard earned cash at Tesco.

Tesco aren’t exactly the best when it comes to explaining the features on any of the Tesco televisions they sell. The description for this Panasonic LCD TV deal only says “The Panasonic TX-L26C10B 26″ HD Ready LCD TV with built-in Freeview offers advanced picture and sound quality for home entertainment.  You can also link other AV devices via Viera link with the use of one remote & playback for digital photos (JPEG ) by just inserting the SD card into the TV.  The TV has a built-in Nicam sound system with 2 HDMI and 2 SCART connections.”

But anywho onto the reviews for the Panasonic TX-L26C10B LCD television sold by Tesco that I mentioned earlier. The 9.4 out of 10 score in the customer reviews for this cheap television come from around 30 people (not the normal 1 biased review). Below is one of the custome reviews which is actually the most negative I could find with 8 out of 10 but its the most balanced review of the Panasonic LCD television at Tesco in my humble opinion.

Good Points “Excelent value for money product. I bought it as a bedroom TV so did not need all the bells and whistles that came with a higher spec TV. One important aspect that had to be right was the sound quality as we had been very disappointed with Samsung model which had sounded very thin but this Panasonic is definitely good enough and has audio output anyway.”

Bad Points “Not that it is a problem with our set up because we view it face on but the quality of the picture is diminished when viewed from a shallow angle, a common issue with lesser spec LCD screens.”

The marketing spiel about the Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 full HD 40 inch LCD television says “The Bravia W5500 has all the Sony technology you need to experience a new level of entertainment. Although this is their television deal of the week the Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 LCD TV looks good in the reviews too. Customers from play.com have given it an average of 5 out of 5 stars with one of them saying “Just upgraded from one of the first Samsung 40 inch lcd 1080p televisions to hit the market and I certainly made the right choice. This TV is superb. Upscaled dvd’s and blu ray are stunning. Freeview provides a very solid picture and the menu system is very good.”

The review from What HiFi wasn’t as generous giving it 4 out of 5 stars and although they were impressed with this LCD TV they complained about the irregular backlighting which is why they didn’t give it the full 5 stars in their review: “That’s where the Sony’s fifth star has gone. We don’t think our KDL-40W5500 is faulty, we just don’t think the backlighting is good enough.”

JVC LT32DR1 Digital Direct Cheap LCD TV Deal

Probably not what you would call a cheap LCD TV but comes with lots of features. Full 1080p high definition and one of the customer reviews says “Great picture quality – excellent blacks being the stand out feature, sound is quite acceptable too. The Freeview quality is very good – would not bother paying the extra money for a 100Hz model as it is as good as my father’s 42XV635DB apart from not being able to play videos through the USB slot”

At 3 is a rather cheap LCD TV but I can honestly say I’ve never heard of Kenmark before? Its a 19 inch screen and only costs £150 with Comet describing it as “Kenmark 19LVD45D 19inch HD ready LCD TV with built-in DVD player and integrated Freeview tuner for a wider viewing choice and no need for an extra box.” Maybe I’ve already found my cheap LCD TV, but I think I’ll take a little trip tomorrow to see what the picture quality is. It has got good reviews on there site though with an average score of 4.8 out of 5! One of them bluntly said “picture quality excellent, sound 5/5, easy set up 5/5, excellent value for money, in other words very happy with the t.v.”

The backlight’s wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. *Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher. Enjoy realistic starlit skies right in your living room. Improvements in panel contrast and scene-adaptive contrast gamma correction have achieved a high contrast ratio of 20,000:1. The backlight tuning area is also expanded to achieve deeper blacks.” Cheap televisions says Panasonic make some of the best televisions on the market today, even if they are boring LCD TVs lol. Now this must be a seriously popular cheap LCD TV as Amazon have around 145 reviews for the Toshiba 32AV615DB! One of the more modest ones says “After much searching and reading numerous reviews on lcd tv’s I finally settled on buying a Toshiba but when I went to purchase the tv there was a link to this one which was the newer model. Although there was no reviews for this model I took a gamble and ordered it anyway. I am very pleased I did.”.

6. GOODMANS LD2271D

Wow I used to own a Goodmans CRT television years ago! Not sure what they’re LCD televisions are like although I do know they are relatively cheap. The boring and not very detailed description says “Goodmans LD2271D 22 inch HD-ready LCD TV with integrated Freeview digital tuner so you can receive full available channels through your aerial, including radio stations. Also features a single HDMI connection, ideal for SKY HD or PlayStation 3 consoles.” There are no reviews yet on this LCD TV that cheap televisions could find. There is however a very strange concept with a Q&A part to the Comet website. One question is “is it a good buy?” the answer by someone called KING “yes this tv is worth buying FACT”. Ermmm very invigorating and descriptive lol.

Bush A642F Cheap 42 Inch LCD TV

Ok so the Bush A642F is £30 cheaper but come on you are going to use your TV screen quite a lot so that extra £30 really isn’t going to be wasted. Seems strange that Argos is promoting the Bush television over the LG ones but they probably get a better mark up on the A642F. If it was my choice I would got for the LG 42PQ2000 plasma television out of the 3. But as you maybe able to tell I’m a bit of a plasma television fan. The 42PQ2000 has got a pretty solid 5 out of 5 stars from the customer reviews on Argos. If you must have a cheap LCD TV then spend your money on the LG 42LF2500 LCD TV instead of the Bush A642F, the £30 extra is worth it just in aesthetics without even getting into picture quality. Again like it plasma brother the LG 42LF2500 42 inch LCD television has got very good reviews from Argos customers.
