Strange title yes but I’ve just been looking at the top ten things people visit cheap TV’s for which are cheap televisions, best tv deals, cheap tv, cheap tv deals, cheap tvs, television, lcd tv deals, televisions, tv deals and best deals on lcd tvs. Strange there’s none for plasma tvs in the top ten but anyway this got me thinking of what the site was like in 2008 before our hosts deleted all the hard work we had done.

ITV to drop The Palace.

ITV television bosses are apparently about to swallow a bitter pill and drop the show The Palace from there schedule. The move follows rather rubbish ratings, people bot liking the show and in my opinion awfully written script, acting and production (my opinion). ITV won’t be happy after they spent and awful lot on commissioning the TV drama as well as promoting it.

Joe Abercrombie – Last Argument Of Kings – Review.

Been trying to get a proof review copy of The Last Argument Of Kings by Joe Abercrombie for the past couple of months so I could write a review for everyone but my attempts have been pretty useless. So after contacting the publishers Gollancz and even the author Joe Abercrombie himself via his blog for a review copy and trying to buy a copy off of ebay (which have gone far too expensive for my modest wallet) I’ve decided to give up trying to get a review copy of Last Argument Of Kings.

Canada gets first Sony Bravia OLED TV.

Sony have announced that they are releasing there first OLED TV in Canada with the Bravia XEL-1 11″ HDTV. According to Sony it used 40% less power compared to a traditional LCD TV although it probably also requires 40% more effort to watch as Sony’s first OLED TV in Canada (the XEL-1) is only 11 inches and costs around $2,500 Canadian Dollars!

Dancing on frozen sick!

Rubbish title I know but I’ve been scraping the barrel for something clever today lol. Anyway on to the story, and two of the contestants on this years ITV TV show Dancing On Ice have caught that nasty sickness bug that seems to have been around forever now. Gareth Gates and Greg Rusedski have obviously been too ill to rehearse for Sundays television show, although evil ITV bosses are hoping the pair can still perform with next to no rehearsing should they recover!

Premiership games on Setanta for February.

Sports TV channel Setanta has announced its English Premiership football games to be broadcast live in February. I was personally a bit bewildered as Setanta is only showing 4 live games!! I thought they had the rights to show more than that, I mean a whole month and just 4 live Premiership games?

Plasma TV stolen from Jacksonville hotel.

Strange and weird televisions news from America where local broadcasters are reporting a story of a man stealing a plasma television from a hotel in Jacksonville Florida! The thief is obviously brave walking into the Hampton Inn near the local airport, removing the plasma TV from the lobby and walking out with it!

Holly Willoughby laughs off dress comments.

The sexy Holly Willoughby presenter of TV’s Dancing On Ice has laughed off the recent comments about the dress she wore on the show a few weeks ago. She doesn’t seem to know why everyone’s going on about it either but being a man I liked it lol.

Siobhan Hayes to join Eastenders.

Well our plan to end Eastenders on everyones big flat panel TVs hasn’t really gone to plan and it appears the same can be said for the career ambitions of Siobham Hays. If your not familiar with the name she plays dizzy Abi in the brilliant comedy televisions show My Family and is set to join the soap as Ricky Butcher’s new love interest.

No Celebrities for Primeval.

Producers for popular ITV television show Primeval said they made a conscious decision no to have any celebrity guest appearances on the TV show. No doubt they wanted to avoid what the BBC have done with Doctor Who which seems to pay more attention to who is on the show opposed to what the show is about. Looks like its working too, with ITV confirming that they have commissioned a third season of Primeval for our television screens.

Celebrity Big Brother to get axe?

No Channel 4 television producers haven’t gone mad and put an axe into the Celebrity Big Brother Hijack (or whatever they want to call it now) house just to finally get some half decent ratings. But the once popular TV show may be getting closer to being dropped from our telly screens according to bookies Ladbrokes who have cut the odds on Celebrity Big Brother getting dropped next year from 8/1 to 5/1.

Sharp announce 20 new LCD televisions.

Electronics giant Sharp have today announced they are to produce 20 new Aquos LCD televisions for the Japanese market according to a press release on there website. The sizes of the TVs will range from 20 to 50 inches and will be known respectively as the X, E and S series LCD televisions. They also claim a rather interesting (if your slightly sad like us lol) statistic that since releasing the Aquos LCD TV range in Japan back in 2001 they have managed to sell over 10 million units!

Samsung number 1 for big LCD TV’s.

Well according to an article on Korean technology news website etnews Samsung were the number one producer of big sized LCD screen televisions in 2007. Well that may be true for 2007 but it is looking more and more likely that AUO (a Taiwanese LCD TV manufacturer) may over take Samsung this year.

Cheap Televisions update 01/08.

Haven’t done one of these cheap television updates for a while now so thought I better keep up appearances and let whoever wants to know whats going on in the weird world of cheap TVs. Firstly I have to admit and apologise for being a bit slow in updating both the television blog and the TV news sections of the site. I’ll blame long working hours etc but I know that doesn’t make things much better lol.

Phil Daniels slags off Eastenders.

Ok finally Phil Daniels has restored a little bit of his dignity by slagging off the Eastenders writers. I have no idea why he took the role on the BBC 1 TV soap thats been running far too long as far as cheap televisions is concerned lol. Hopefully all the writers will be fired or the BBC will cancel the whole ridiculous show (highly doubtful though).

ITV fire Jim Rosenthal.

ITV have decided to sack TV sports presenter Jim Rosenthal from his £400,000 a year job with the broadcaster. No doubt he’s going to be rather annoyed losing his job thats worth so much money and lets him jet set around the world presenting ITV’s TV coverage of sporting events such as the boxing and world cup rugby.

Michael Underwood breaks ankle.

Contestant in this years ITV1 TV show Dancing On Ice Michael Underwood has broken his right ankle while rehearsing for this Sundays show. He has obviously pulled out of the show with the broken ankle which happened when he tripped on the ice whilst practicing with partner Melanie Lambert. He is now apparently got to undergo surgery to put his bone back in place and so specialists can add a metal plate to his leg. Although putting on a brave face seems more worried about getting out of shape than the break in his leg lol.
