Cheap televisions thinks this LG 42PT353K 42 inch Widescreen television is one of the best bargain 42 inch plasma TVs currently available for under £400. It comes with built in Freeview and like most LG TV screens has one of the best frame designs of any televisions currently being sold and 600Hz technology. For a 42 inch full HD LED / LCD television with the same features and a probably less impressive picture would be twice as expensive.

Matt Smith who plays the lead role in the BBC 1 hit TV show Doctor Who believes part of the sci-fi show’s success is down to dads enjoy looking at sexy actress Karen Gillan who plays Amy Pond. He also didn’t seem to agree with many conservative viewers who are calling for the 23-year-old actress to stop wearing short skirts in the family prime time TV show. Ok so we’re mostly young male bloggers so we agree but what do you think?

Some news from British TV manufacturer Cello (yes televisions are still made in the UK) are about to launch a new range of 3D TVs. The new Cello LCD televisions will be 42 and 47 inch in size and price wise will range from £499 to £699. It seems 3d technology is here to stay no matter how much our team thinks it’s a gimmick but all the main TV companies are pushing people to purchase them just like they did with HD televisions (of which most of the population still don’t receive a HD signal). The new LCD models being made by Cello are being marketed at the cheap 3D television market, using passive 3D with a LG LCD panel and a very welcome set of four 3D glasses with each screen.

Below we have put together a list of 5 of the cheapest televisions being sold in the UK today from Tesco, Amazon, Argos, Currys and Comet. All of these TVs are pretty small by todays standards with none being over 16 inches (does anyone else remember sitting with their family around a 14 inch CRT TV in the 80′s?). You do get what you pay for in the world of home cinema, but for a cheap television to go in a bedroom, kitchen or even a shed these televisions really are a bargain.

The Cheap Televisions blogging team are big fans of console gaming especially in full HD. So as you can imagine we are extremely excited about Assassin’s Creed: Revelations which is due to be released later this year on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
