This picture post is of an LCD TV that really isn’t a cheap television at all. So welcome to the super widescreen Philips 56″ Cinema 21:9 LCD TV. It has to be one of the most stunning looking televisions you can buy at the moment but costs a finance busting £4,000. Its unlikely you’ll be able to find any good LCD TV deals on this tele but for today we’re just interested in these spectacular ambilight pictures we’ve got from Philips.

After looking at these 8 images of the Philips Cinema 21:9 LCD TV I don’t only want to own one I want to own one of the settings the pictures were taken in. Who wouldn’t love a lounge like the ones we can see here! Anyway enjoy the pictures and hope that lottery ticket comes in . Oh and yes if you are thinking this television looks slightly odd thats because it one of the new generation of super wide screen TVs (apparently widescreen wasn’t wide enough).

Philips Aurea 42PFL990 Ambilight LCD Television

Ambilight televisions are back and finally whathifi reviewed the expensive yet gorgeous looking HD Philips Aurea 42PFL9900 LCD TV. Ok Aurea is just a new name for the Ambilight TVs we have feature on cheap televisions in the past, of and that reminds me this isn’t actually a cheap television coming in at around £3,000! The actually puts it at twice the price of one of our favorite 42 inch plasma televisions the Pioneer Kuro!It is a gorgeous looking television especially with its party trick lighting effects which the review highly praised. However it only managed 4 out of 5 stars due to its price and its black levels not being as good as on other televisions (at the un cheap price they should be spot on!).

Whathifi summarised their review saying “The digital tuner is solid, being largely free of noise, very sharp, and capable of impressive levels of contrast and vivid colours. Should you be using the television in isolation, you’ll be glad to hear the sound quality from the invisible speakers (again, once tweaked) is decent enough, too. Sadly, we can’t help thinking that this television is a little expensive at the widely quoted £3000. Yes, it’s like no other TV on the market, and if you’re taken by the Ambilight Spectra, which we would absolutely understand, then it will make you very happy. However, the odd question mark hangs over the motion and black levels, meaning that, while this Philips set is undoubtedly impressive, revolutionary and unique, it’s not quite a five-star product.”

New Philips Ambilight Televisions

Finally some hot cheap TV news for the summer as consumer electronic manufacturer Philips has announced that it is to release its new range of 1080p full HD LCD Ambilight televisions in June. The Philips Ambilight LCD televisions will be named the 9600 series and available in 32″, 37″, 42″ and 47″ sizes. We will have to see if the larger televisions are better than the current benchmark of the Pioneer Kuro plasma TVs once reviews start coming through.As mentioned earlier all the new Philips Ambilight 9600 LCD TVs are full 1080p HD of which techradar has an interesting fact that not many 32 inch televisions are full HD! Don’t use that one in the pub unless everyone already knows your a bit of a geek lol. Colour contrast is rumoured to be 30:000 and all have Philips 100Hz clear LCD technology.

From the picture above these LCD TVs look ascetically pleasing too and will be priced from £999 to £1999, as I said earlier if your looking for a larger screened television take a look at the Pioneer Kuro plasma before splashing your cash, it may not be full HD but the picture is unrivalled at the moment.
