BBC One The Day Of The Triffids TV Remake.

TV channel BBC One is set to release a two part television drama of the classic The Day Of The Triffids. Now we at cheap TVs love the classic version and although this TV version will never be as good at least the BBC are giving a good shot including acting talent like Dougray Scott, Joely Richardson, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, Eddie Izzard and Jason Priestley in the cast.

The TV show version of The Day Of The Triffids is also written by Patrick Harbinson who has previous shows like ER and Law & Order to his name. The two part television drama will be shown on BBC One over the Christmas holidays but unfortunately cheap televisions doesn’t know the exact broadcast date yet.

A BBC press release describes the new version of The Day Of The Triffids as:

“In the not-too-distant future, man’s search for an alternative fuel supply leads him to uncover the ominous Triffid, a crop now cultivated for its fuel that seems to have a life of its own. But when spectators gather worldwide for a much anticipated solar storm, billions are left blinded and the few sighted survivors watch as society collapses into chaos.
The Triffids, meanwhile, find their way out of captivity. Free to roam the planet with a fatal sting, and a retributive taste for human flesh, the Triffids begin rapid breeding. Now, Dr Bill Masen must lead the brave in their epic battle against the Triffids’ reign of terror in what could be the last days of mankind.”

Now I think Eddie Izzard is a great comedian but if I’m honest I have never seen much of his television work as I have could care for his strange fake American accent. I hope we get to see his proper acting talent in this tv version of The Day Of The Triffids. Talking all promotion Eddie Izzard apparently said:

“It’s a brilliant thriller, which taps into the survivalist instinct within us all. Like 28 Days Later, it shows what could happen if the structure of society disintegrated. What if law and order breaks down and you’re forced to get a gun and go feral? How would you react? That’s a universal question. We can ask it of ourselves. And that’s what makes The Day Of The Triffids such a riveting piece of television.”

Psychoville Series 2 Confirmed

The BBC have confirmed Psycoville will get a second series although you will have to wait until Spring 2011 for the full 6 new episodes to be shown on TV! Although from the little note on the BBC Psychoville website they’re planning for a one off winter (probably Christmas) special in 2010.

The note on the site reads “Your next appointment at Ravenhill Hospital will be Winter 2010. With six further courses of treatment to be taken at weekly intervals from Spring 2011″.

Psychoville stars Reece Shearsmith, Steve Pemberton, Dawn French and Jason Hopkins. Its written by a couple of guys that made the popular TV show The League Of Gentlemen and got its first television airing on BBC Two on 18 June 2009.

Samsung LNT4071F LCD TV Pictures.

Some LCD television pictures for all our cheap television loving readers out there although this one is probably of more interest to those of you in the good old USA. The LCD TV is from Samsung and I’ve actually seen some cheep good deals on this LNT4071F LCD television on some of the American shops. Not the best of cheap televisions picture posts, but at least its very good that I’m keeping up appearances.

First picture of the Samsung LNT4071F LCD TV is a front view and it looks pretty smart if you ask me. The smooth curve with a hit of red looks stylish instead of grotesque like several over televisions currently available (especially the bright pink televisions in some shops). The second image is a side image of the Samsung LNT4071F LCD television and as you might have guessed being a slim television you can’t actually see much (I think thats the point of not having CRT TV’s any more).

Christmas Television Deals?

Believe it or not I’ve had a few emails from people asking me where to get the best television deals in time for Christmas. Yes people are already thinking of Christmas its crazy lol. However LCD and Plasma TV manufacturers know this too which is why you will see a vast array of new televisions or television related products being advertised or in the shops at the moment. My advice if you really want a bargain cheap television is to wait until after Christmas and hit the 2009 2010 January sales .

Armani Bargain LCD Television For Christmas?

I know this isn’t the best answer but I don’t want to start talking about Christmas on cheap televisions just yet. Although I do need to start talking about all the new Lcd and plasma televisions around at the moment. Ah and please be aware just because it might have a new model name or look a bit nicer doesn’t always mean its new technology or an improvement over the last model lcd or plasma television.

Well today is Boxing day and no doubt there are plenty of bargain hunters scouring the high streets of the UK and internet shops looking for those amazing deals in this years sales. Cheap television has therefore experienced a real surge in traffic today no doubt down to the January sales. Just watching my TV now every other advert is going on about some kind of special discount end of season sale etc, 30%, 50% even 70% off, now just a word of warning for those looking to pick up a cheap LCD or plasma TV deal in this years sales be warned they won’t have that high a discount on televisions opposed to things like clothing and other electronic goods.So I’ve put together a list of the UK towns where people have been visiting cheap television from just for today. There are some real surprises as far as I’m concerned with a real lack of visitors to cheap TV from East Anglia. I would have thought Norwich and Ipswich would have been in the top towns somewhere! The other missing English regions that were of a surprise was the lack of people from Devon and Cornwall and also the North East of England which had none at all! Where are you people lol! So a real lack of visitors from some of England’s main regions for cheap TV, I can only assume that people from these places are down the pub or have better things to do than search for a cheap LCD TV on boxing day, and who can blame them really!

That is nothing compared to the other regions in the British union though. Wales brought barely no visitors to cheap tv, just a single visitor from Cardiff and a few other Welsh towns which was a real surprise to me! More surprising was apart from 2 people from Belfast cheap television had no other visits at all from Northern Ireland! Things from Scotland looked a little bit better with a total of 30 visits! Not that impressive compared to the amount of English cheap TV readers. But out of those 30 Scottish visitors cheap TV didn’t even have one from Glasgow!!! Anyway here are the 205 UK towns that have managed to pay cheap TV a visit today trying to find those deals and bargains.
