The reasons at the time was I just wasn’t watching that much of the Sky broadcasts on my television to justify the cost of the Sky subscription. A hundred billion channels but I was still mostly watching the BBC and Channel 4! Since then Sky have introduced Sky Arts and Sky Atlantic which seem to have programming that better suits my viewing taste. So I have to say the 12 months half price Sky subscription offer is pretty tempting.

You do however have to feel sorry for the loyal Sky customers that wouldn’t be able to take advantage of this Sky deal! It’s a bit crazy that those (like myself) who happily chop and change their television services to get the best price get all the best offers to return to Sky. Yet those that stay loyal and have had ongoing Sky subscriptions for years have to pay the full price.

Samsung LE40C750 LCD 3D TV Deal @ Tesco

The Samsung LE40C750R2 is a 3D capable full HD 1080p LCD TV that has integrated Freeview HD and is priced at £899.99 on the Tesco Direct sound and vision site. The LE40C750R2 has the ability to convert your old 2D movies needlessly into 3D. The television scores pretty well on Reevoo with a score of 9 out of 10 from 51 reviews. The £899.99 is all you pay for the Tesco deal as the BluRay DVD player and 3D kit below come for free.

The “free” Samsung BD-C5900 3D BluRay Player included is normally prices at £169.97 on the Tesco television website and seems to have very favourable reviews scoring 9.4 out of 10 on Revoo.

Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 LCD TV Deal

The marketing spiel about the Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 full HD 40 inch LCD television says “The Bravia W5500 has all the Sony technology you need to experience a new level of entertainment. Bravia Engine 3 digital processing delivers a depth, richness and clarity that will take your breath away. Motionflow 100Hz technology keeps fast-moving sports and action crisp and clear.”

Although this is their television deal of the week the Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 LCD TV looks good in the reviews too. Customers from play.com have given it an average of 5 out of 5 stars with one of them saying “Just upgraded from one of the first Samsung 40 inch lcd 1080p televisions to hit the market and I certainly made the right choice. This TV is superb. Upscaled dvd’s and blu ray are stunning. Freeview provides a very solid picture and the menu system is very good.”

The review from What HiFi wasn’t as generous giving it 4 out of 5 stars and although they were impressed with this LCD TV they complained about the irregular backlighting which is why they didn’t give it the full 5 stars in their review: “That’s where the Sony’s fifth star has gone. We don’t think our KDL-40W5500 is faulty, we just don’t think the backlighting is good enough.”

The KDL-40W5500 Sony Bravia LCD TV doesn’t come with built in Freesat like some of the newer models but you can get up to £150 of you money back in the Sony Trade-In offer.

Cheap LG BD350 Blu-ray DVD Player Tesco

The LG BD350 Blu-ray DVD player looks a nice enough looking product for a cheap Blu-ray DVD player but its hard to find any reviews for it apart from a really rubbish review on Tesco (Reevoo )where someone said “The blu ray player does not come with connections to link it to a television, so to use the player, you have to buy a special lead separately.” Well no of course the LG BD350 Blu-Ray DVD Player doesn’t come with a HDMI lead! No Blu-ray DVD players do. Stupid!

A better review of the LG BD350 Blu-ray DVD player is on amazon but it seems to praise it far to much so I’d like to know what they thought the bad points are. The review says “Finally LG got it. This 5th generation blu-ray player of LG has got it al. You can play all kind of discs on this player without any delay or problems. Superb blu-ray playback, excellent dvd and cd playback. Good design. Very slim model. Easy remote control. Great player for the true film and music lover!”

LG no longer list this Bluray player on their UK website so I assume its a end of line model hence Tesco and Richersounds offer it as a special deal. JVC LT32DR1 Digital Direct Cheap LCD TV Deal

The JVC website doesn’t have many pictures or much other information other than the boring list of technical specifications (see any television you want to buy in action before buying online). but it does have a very small blurb “Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview (DVB-T) Tuner, DynaPix HD Picture Engine, Eco Mode, and HDMI (CECx3)/PC/USB 2.0 Input”. I can’t find any reviews for the JVC LT32DR1 32 Inch HD LCD TV on the digital direct website or any others so it is a bit of an unknown quantity.

Now if I was paying attention the USA has 50 states so we’re missing out on our television website getting people from 40 states which on average are each larger than England by landmass!
