So after much pondering I finally decided to give in and take Sky up on the offer using a promotional discount code, it’s much cheaper than normal and I do love a television related bargain. Rather than just sticking with the television packs I had previously with Sky television I decided to also add the Sky Sports package which with the offer comes in at a reasonably cheap £20 a month!

Sky Sports Football Fixtures On TV

I know existing Sky TV customers will be saying that’s not fair to themselves but it’s not my fault. For those that want to take Sky up on their half price subscription for 12 months the SkyTV1 discount code I used has expired. However cheap televisions has had a tip off that the discount code SkyA is valid until 8th September 2011 and SkyTV3 may also still be valid. It would be much better if Sky would stop charging people to view the channels in HD though, £10 a month, £120 a year is expensive in this economic climate and isn’t helping forward the world of HD television viewing for the masses.

So as I now have the luxury of being able to watch the nations favourite spot on my 50 inch plasma television (I can’t wait), I’ve been hunting through the TV listings for what football games are being televised this coming week on Sky Sports.

This Weeks TV Football Fixtures starting 20/08/11

Saturday 20/08/22<br

We might make this week long Sky Sports football fixture guide an ongoing feature here on the cheap television blog.
<div

Well they will apparently only be showing TV highlights of the football feast but only if they are victories for the North Korean football team in the World Cup and even then will be heavily edited.

World Cup On TV Rooney Gerrard England

Now some of this is a little bit of western propaganda as I doubt North Korea could afford the television rights or the population could afford the satellite or cable television services. Mike Breen apparently told the Telegraph newspaper:

“Like everything else there, the regime will have complete control over the World Cup. North Korea will not pay for the TV rights, which means they will not be able to screen live games on state television. They are more likely to get footage from South Korea and then it will be heavily edited to suit the regime. Only the ruling elite with access to other satellite channels will be able to watch games involving other countries.”

Ah Bring on the World Cup, my plasma television and beer fridge a both already prepared. id="more-1136">Well hopefully Setanta sports will have more live TV coverage in the future as it currently doesn’t represent all that great value for money (unless your with Virgin where I think its thrown in for free, must double check that though). Saying that Setanta subscribers do get four pretty good games for there money, well maybe apart from the Liverpool one lol.

The four Premiership fixtures being broadcast live on Setanta sports TV for February are:

Sat Feb 2 Liverpool v Sunderland 5.15pm
Sat Feb 23 Newcastle United v Manchester United 5.15pm<br
