Play.com currently have the Full HD Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 40″ LCD TV as their Deal Of The Week in the cheap televisions section. At a relatively cheap LCD TV £699.99 including free delivery and 3 year warranty I think it’s very good value especially considering Tesco Direct are selling refurbished Sony Bravia 40W5500 40″ LCD TV for £899.99! Crazy when you compare the best prices, deals and quality of cheap televisions sometimes.

The marketing spiel about the Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 full HD 40 inch LCD television says “The Bravia W5500 has all the Sony technology you need to experience a new level of entertainment. Bravia Engine 3 digital processing delivers a depth, richness and clarity that will take your breath away. Motionflow 100Hz technology keeps fast-moving sports and action crisp and clear.”

Although this is their television deal of the week the Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500 LCD TV looks good in the reviews too. Customers from play.com have given it an average of 5 out of 5 stars with one of them saying “Just upgraded from one of the first Samsung 40 inch lcd 1080p televisions to hit the market and I certainly made the right choice. This TV is superb. Upscaled dvd’s and blu ray are stunning. Freeview provides a very solid picture and the menu system is very good.”

The review from What HiFi wasn’t as generous giving it 4 out of 5 stars and although they were impressed with this LCD TV they complained about the irregular backlighting which is why they didn’t give it the full 5 stars in their review: “That’s where the Sony’s fifth star has gone. We don’t think our KDL-40W5500 is faulty, we just don’t think the backlighting is good enough.”

The KDL-40W5500 Sony Bravia LCD TV doesn’t come with built in Freesat like some of the newer models but you can get up to £150 of you money back in the Sony Trade-In offer.

HANNspree Releases 32 inch Full HD Television.

No cheap televisions has not heard of HANNspree either but they have just released a bunch of HD televisions they call the ST range. They include the HANNspree ST321MMB 32 inch LCD television which looks like a really good bargain to us coming in at around £330 including a 2 years manufacturers warranty, Full HD and all the other connections you’d expect from a modern flat panel television.

Amazon has been pimping all the new ranges of both plasma and LCD televisions that have become available recently for sizes 19”, 22”, 26”, 32”, 37”, 40”, 42”, 46”, 47”, 50” (yes “ means inches). There are an awful lot of them so I’ve decided just to let you know what the new 42 inch TV models are, some of these are very affordable cheap televisions too. Thought it would be a good time for cheap televisions to look at the best selling plasma TVs from Amazon in the UK at the moment. Please note the top 20 is made up from Amazons statistics so will not represent the whole market, you will also probably find these plasma televisions much cheaper on other online or high street stores. The top 20 plasma televisions does show a good trend for 42 inch televisions being the best selling and 50 inch plasma TVs becoming more popular with consumers. It also looks like people do believe that the quality of Panasonic is worth paying the extra money than the great affordable deals you can get on LG plasma televisions (this is more likely to do with warranty concerns than picture quality, the new LG has impressed me). All of these plasma televisions come with Freeview which is now becoming just another standard feature with all new televisions. The average price point is around £600 for a new plasma television which is great considering the quality, features and sizes of these flat panel TVs. One thing that seems to be even Stevens is if people choose to go with HD Ready or Full 1080p high Definition when buying. Don’t forget you can get much better deals on these plasma televisions than the prices quoted in this cheap televisions post.
