Tesco have recently been promoting their big price drop, a marketing campaign to tempt us with cheaper prices in the run up to Christmas. The good news is Tesco have decided to include several Technika LCD televisions in this new promotion, we at Cheap Televisions like to find the best television deals so here is the largest Technika LCD television included in the promotion, the Technika 32-56 32 inch LCD HD Ready TV.

The Technika 32-56 32″ television has been reduced from £199.99 to £179.10 by Tesco. It is HD Ready 720p rather than 1080p but at the 32″ size the difference in picture quality isn’t going to be terribly noticeable like on a large 50″ plasma TV for example.

Connectivity wise the Technika 32-56 LCD TV has the expected slots to plug in a range of home entertainment equipment, including 3 HDMI sockets, a single SCART socket and a USB port. So it could easily accommodate a HD games console, Sky HD box, Blu-Ray DVD player and a surround sound system for example.

Technology is always pushing things forwards but the cheap television blogging team can’t really see how televisions can get much thinner than this Samsung, it already appear to be thinner than should be possible. Even so the Samsung UE32D6530 still includes four ever useful HDMI inputs, two USB sockets, a hardly ever used digital audio optical output and the usual array of legacy terminals to plug a plethora of old electronic devices in. None of which harm the aesthetics of this very cool looking television set at all.

The Samsung UE32D6530 inbuilt Freeview HD tuner is simply excellent and something that really makes this 3d LCD television stand out from the rest of the competition at thi price point. The edges are razor sharp and the colour reproduction is fantastically. Almost everything about the picture quality is spot on from excellent colours, realistic skin tones, smooth motion with little or no blur and an amazing sense of depth. The only niggle that slightly lets the Samsung UE32D6530 down where picture quality is concerned is a tiny hint of a blue tinge to the very deepest of blacks (will the now defunct Pioneer Kuro ever be bettered?).

Sound wise the Samsung UE32D6530 32 Inch 3D TV is a little on the lightweight side, although this is to be expected due to the ridiculously slim profile of the television. Most people now own stand alone home cinema speaker systems that can pump the deepest of sounds into neighbours homes so I doubt this would really put anyone off buying this televisions.

It seems the only real issue that stands out a little bit with the Samsung UE32D6530 32 Inch LCD TV is the 3D picture quality. Compared to the best 3D televisions currently on the ever growing market is doesn’t provide the depth and involvement of the very best. Sometimes there can also be the odd picture instability, however this is no different to most of it’s direct competitors.

What HiFi give the Samsung UE32D6530 32 Inch LCD 3D television 5 out of 5 stars and it is their recommended television in the 32 inch category. On their website they enthusiastically say: “A near-faultless marriage of form and function – and it’s a steal at the price”

On Amazon where the Samsung UE32D6530 can be picked up for £599 it has a review score of 4.5 stars out of 5 from 9 reviews which is a very good score. One of the very positive reviews says: ” I bought this Samsung model after the reviews on Amazon and other reviews such as What HiFi. Contrary to many reviews I am extremely pleased with Smart functionality especially the ease with which it linked to my home network QNAP NAS where I store all our music and video”.

Argos have just added a new Evotel 32 Inch HD Ready LCD TV to their range of cheap televisions. The ELCD32USB is a HD ready (720p) television, comes with 3 HDMI connections and a built in digital Freeview tuner all for £199.99 which is very cheap for a 32 inch LCD television. Although we are trying to discover more about the ELCD32USB LCD TV as we currently don’t know much about Evotel, although it’s obvious they are a direct competitor to the Alba cheap televisions that Argos have been selling for years.

Cheap Tesco Technika 40-270 LCD Television

The Technika 40-270 is the second largest Technika LCD television that Tesco sell. At just £299 in the UK (cheap televisions is not sure if it is available in Ireland?) is a very cheap 40 inch television (and the cheapest over 37″ LCD screen Tesco sell by some margin). The specification and features for the 40-270 include built in Freeview, 3 HDMI connections and full 1080p HD.

Obviously price wise the Technika 40-270 40″ LCD TV is a real bargain deal, but we worry that it is possibly too cheap! We would love to get out hands on one from Tesco to test it and do a review to see if a cheap price means low picture, sound and build quality.

If you are planning on buying a Technika 40-270 40″ LCD television from Tesco we would recommend putting it next to a similar sized TV made by a more mainstream LCD manufacturer like LG, Samsung, Sony or Panasonic. Using the same input material (Freeview or DVD) and see what the actual difference in picture quality is. We’re not sure if Tesco would do this in their stores but if someone from Tesco wants to get in touch with Cheap Televisions to let us know it’s be most helpful.

Even though the Technika LCD 40-270 40″ HD television is cheap it still does come with the usual 1 year manufacturer’s warranty and Tesco do offer an extended 3 year warranty at an extra cost.

On Reevoo the reviews of the Technika 40-270 television has a perfect 10 out of 10 score. We would really take this with a pinch of salt as many of the reviews have no text and those that do just state the Technika 40-270 LCD TV is great value for money (which is obvious anyway). Cello To Release Range Of Cheap 3D TVs

Some news from British TV manufacturer Cello (yes televisions are still made in the UK) are about to launch a new range of 3D TVs. The new Cello LCD televisions will be 42 and 47 inch in size and price wise will range from £499 to £699. It seems 3d technology is here to stay no matter how much our team thinks it’s a gimmick but all the main TV companies are pushing people to purchase them just like they did with HD televisions (of which most of the population still don’t receive a HD signal). The new LCD models being made by Cello are being marketed at the cheap 3D television market, using passive 3D with a LG LCD panel and a very welcome set of four 3D glasses with each screen.

Director of Cello Brian Palmer said: “Initially I was unsure about the future of 3D, but the quality of 3D vision now available and the number of new 3D films coming onto the market this year guarantees success for this new technology. Below we have put together a list of 5 of the cheapest televisions being sold in the UK today from Tesco, Amazon, Argos, Currys and Comet. All of these TVs are pretty small by todays standards with none being over 16 inches (does anyone else remember sitting with their family around a 14 inch CRT TV in the 80′s?). You do get what you pay for in the world of home cinema, but for a cheap television to go in a bedroom, kitchen or even a shed these televisions really are a bargain.

1: Tesco – £96.00 – Technika 16-850 15.6 inch LCD TV with built in DVD and Freeview

Not exactly feature rich, however this cheap Technika television on sale at Tesco does come with a built in DVD player and Freeview. It’s HD ready and also has 1 HDMI, 1 Scart and 1 USB connection all for under £100!

2: Amazon – £80.00 – Digihome LED16913HD 16 inch HD Ready LED TV

At £80.00 you really knock this Digihome television being sold by Amazon, ok it doesn’t have a built in DVD player like the Technika but is £16 cheaper. Although being a very cheap bargain it does have very mixed reviews on Amazon so check before buying.

3: Argos – £89.99 – Alba 16 Inch HD Ready LED TV

Another 16 inch television this time made by Alba and being sold by Argos. Yes it is a seriously ugly TV set in this hot pink colour but don’t worry as Argos do sell the same model in black (yes Argos needs to employ better photographers as we can see the reflection too). Apart from that we have little info about this Alba TV apart from a warning on the Argos page saying “This TV will not work with digital signals in the Republic of Ireland, you will require a digital set top box or satellite source ”

4: Currys – £59.97 – C15DVDB10 15.6″ HD Ready LCD TV with Built-in DVD Player

Built in Freeview and DVD player! We really have no idea how Currys are selling it for such a cheap price. Hell even if this little LCD TV has bad sound and ok picture quality it’s still a bargain! 1 of each of the usual connectors but no reviews online for this essentials C15DVDB10 television. The cheapest TV in the UK?

The most expensive television in this list of bargain TVs is the Goodmans LD1613 LCD TV which another 16 inch model. Although the most expensive it doesn’t seem to have any better features that the others in this list. Reviews wise it’s no better than the others with a few issues about Freeview reception.

The Samsung UE32D5000 (or to give it its full name the UE32D5000PWXXU) is currently the best selling full 1080p HD television being sold on Play.com. It’s a 32 inch LED backlight LCD screen so is super thin.

However, being little bargain hunters we’ve found a much better deal that’ll save you some extra money as Comet and Amazon sell the exact same UE32D5000PWXXU HDTV model for £346.00!

Two Tesco TV Deals

Tesco are currently running a sale on their sound and vision site, or as they call it “Summer Madness”. We’ve been hunting around and thought we’d tell you about two current Tesco TV deals on Sony Bravia HD LCD televisions.

The first of these TV deals at Tesco is the Sony KDL32 CX523 32 inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Internet TV & Freeview HD. A full HD TV with a pretty good review score on Reevoo of 8.3 from 20 reviews for a reasonably cheap price of £399.99.

The second offer is for another, more expensive, 32 inch Sony television. The Sony KDL32 EX523 32 inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LED TV with Freeview HD. Again another very good review score of 8.8 on Reevoo and in the Tesco sale for £549.00.

32 inch televisions were the most popular size not that long ago, but now customers want the biggest tele they can afford and the 32″ set has fallen out of favour. However these two Sony LCD screens shouldn’t be ignored as there Bravia series is always high quality. We especially like that they both come with built in Freeview HD too. Anyway we’ll bring you the best Tesco TV deals when we hear about them very soon.
